Patient (Host) factors
- The prior use of antibiotic therapy -> increased risk
of antibiotic-resistant pathogen infection
- More severe of the illness

• extended hospital stay
• frequently of intubation
• parenteral nutrition, or other medical devices
(i.e., central venous or urinary catheters)


- Increase the risk of a hospital acquired
infection (HAI) with a drug-resistant pathogen
